Quoted values are for CARDED, NM examples. Cards less than NM will obviously command a lesser value than listed, depending on overall condition. 2004 introduced collectors to limited ZAMAC issues, which were basically unpainted cars with tampos. These weren't as numerous as the regular issues, so some models will command a premium. Also new to the line were the K-Mart Exclusive Colors, which couldn't be found anywhere else but....you guessed it...K-Mart. While these are exclusive, they don't typically command a much higher premium than the regular issues. You'll see a K-Mart logo to note which models were the exclusive colors. Note that the NCHWA utilizes a pricing method called "Star Value©." Instead of specific dollar values, each car will be assigned a Star Value© to indicate rarity and potential price range. There are simply too many variables to place a "set" value on any model, so a range will be used instead to indicate where that particular model may fall on the secondary price scale. A +/- indicates where on that scale the value is approximated, while a number by itself would indicate the value falls in the middle of the Star Value. This is also an easy quick-glance method to determine rarity; the higher the number, the rarer the car. The value chart will be placed at the bottom of each page. |

2004 was the first year that K-Mart held their "K-Days" event, where collectors would gather on a Saturday morning and have a chance to crack open new cases that held new issues, Exclusive Colors and First-To-Market models. Collectors could also snag posters that were included in the Master Cases. A truly fun event, as long as it's run properly! |
